Fionnuala O'Sullivan was born in Lusaka, Zambia. After 10 years of teaching in Africa, her Irish father and English mother relocated to Ireland where she attended primary and secondary school.
She studied at the Dublin Institute of Technology at Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin .
She then went on to design her own line of clothing which was showcased at her own runway show in Naas in the late 1980s.
Fionnuala moved to the US in the late 1980s-early 1990s and has been a south end resident of Seattle ever since, first in Mt Baker and currently in Seward Park.
Fionnuala became a Real Estate agent and has been a broker since 1999 with GBK Realtors LLC, an independent, full service real estate company recognized as one of Seattle’s most successful brokerages. She became a part owner of the company in 2012.
